The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) . The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is a multi-faceted law enforcement agency, primarily responsible for law enforcement services in unincorporated Vigo County. Other responsibilities include operating our county jail, managing our sex and violent offender registry, serving emergency detentions and evictions, handling court process paperwork (such as no contact orders), and securing our four county buildings (court house, community corrections, juvenile center, and annex). The VCSO has approximately 50 sworn law enforcement personnel, 10 reserve officers, 80 correctional personnel, 10 special deputies, and 5 civilian support staff to meet the needs of the county’s more than 50,000 residents.
